Foray in Florence took place on the 27th, 28th and 29thof April 2018 with a programme of activities presented in collaboration with the University of Florence - Landscape Design Lab. The theme of the event was a reimagining of the Grand Tour, looking to the past to inspire solutions to contemporary and future challenges in Florence and beyond.
THIRD DAY
Thanks to the owners and custodians of Torrigiani Garden, Benedetta and Vanni Torrigiani, the participants enjoyed an extraordinary guided visit to the largest privately owned garden in Europe within city boundaries. Within its 7ha, the Torrigiani Garden is choreographed with hidden meaning: it hosts architectural and botanical riches, including the 22 metres high spiral-shaped tower, old city walls designed by Michelangelo, esoteric symbols of the human journey from the ignorance to knowledge and light, sit alongside greenhouses and limonaie protecting botanical treasures.
